Who are you as a reader?

I would say I am a reluctant reader, which kind of is annoying. I wish I had the love for books like I do with the love of movies and documentaries. I love watching movies or a documentary, in the summer time I watch so many movies and on the weekends I do too, but I haven't truly been excited about reading for a while. But I am starting to become way more interested in kicking back and reading a book now instead of any movie, because of this project. It has taught me that reading can be so relaxing and interesting. For this project, I was really excited to finally just read something I truly wanted to read. I have become obsessed with watching and reading interviews of artists such as Jay-Z and Kanye West on YouTube and in magazines plus I absolutely love their music and their collaborated album, "Watch the Throne." I knew that Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) had a book decoding his life through his music called, "Decoded," and I wanted it so badly for so long. I didn't know what I wanted to read until a few days before Thanksgiving break, and I was extremely excited that I remembered his book! So far, it has brought me more in touch with Shawn Carter than I ever thought I could have. It is fantastic so far. The way I am reading it is very relaxed and leisurely. When I am done with my homework or chores around the house and I see 'Decoded' laying on my bed, I can honestly say I am excited to open it up and read more about Shawn Carter's life. He is such an interesting man. The best part about reading this book is two things, 1: Knowing more about the fascinating life of Jay-Z and 2: This relaxed way of reading is making me excited to read even more books, which I think is awesome.
